In the last three or four years if it is not one thing it is the other! After I was hit in the head by a 100 lb pipe last
fall, I should have been hospitalized--but of course, being the hard-headed rescuer that I am (we all are), I thought I could
get myself all better. After all, we all thought it was "just" a concussion....
After four months of continual
stumbllng and falling (I don't drink at all) and trying to manage the "concussion," it became clear that I needed
help. Although I'd rather not go into all of the details right now, I will say that trying to heal a traumatic brain injury
causes all kinds of other problems--especially being continually exposed to the hospital--including an unexpected diagnosis
of double pneumonia--the contagious type at that!
I went in for a routine (now) kinda head-to-pelvis scan, I started
to get calls from the docs that I needed immediate treatment. This was a very unexpected surprise. My options were:
some serious side-effect meds; daily IV's or hospitalization. Reluctantly, I am trying the first. People in the house
also have to be tested or at least watched and treated if need be. (I either got it in the community--or more than likely
in the hospital.)
I'll write more soon. I just wanted you to know why I haven't been writing as much. The RR animals
all fine. They are being taken care of by loving volunteers and hopefully soon, I can get back to normal in a few weeks!
Thank
you for caring
Little Kasey woke up with "bedhead" the other day and he looked too cute!
